“Where Corals Lie”, a poem by Richard Garnett which Sir Edward Elgar set to music in his song cycle “Sea Pictures”. It is one of my favourite pieces of music. It is so jaunty yet full of yearning and adventure!
A small early plastic brooch of a ship in full sail is appearing on a rose wood horizon. Beneath the waves swim a collection of old carved bone fish, possibly carved by Napoleonic prisoners of war, stick coral from an old necklace, and turquoise.
Old Hebron beads, African glass and very old trade beads, silver and glass beads form the necklace.
